Information for Parents

Child Safeguarding Policy

Parents naturally want to know that their child will be safe and looked after when taking part in any activity.  Bucks YFC does not underestimate the importance of this and has a child safeguarding policy in place  for this reason, ensuring  members are protected and leaders/officers know their roles and responsibilities.  In addition, under 18s are required to fill in consent forms for specific events and parents are asked to be understanding of clubs when asked to fulfil these safeguarding requirements.

Whilst the safety of members will always be the key priority, Bucks YFC is aware that, as a member-led organisation, it is also important for members not to be bombarded with red-tape and paperwork.  As a result, Bucks YFC has developed processes to streamline this and not lose the enjoyment factor - one of the key strengths of the organisation.

For more information about the Bucks YFC safeguarding policy, please contact the County Office.

Parents' Involvement

YFC ShowParents are encouraged to be involved in YFC too, and may be called upon for help in providing transport, assisting at events, giving talks/running club nights, etc. Parents may also become 'Club Leaders' or 'Advisory Members' at clubs, which involves a more formal commitment to support the club.

Whilst this does require time to be given up to help out, parents often find their own social lives being extended and having just as much fun as the members!
