Training Opportunities
YFC members are able to further their skills by enrolling on training courses in a variety of disciplines - all of which can help members in their personal development and ultimately their future career. Training courses may be run internally within the organisation (through the Clubs or County/National Federations) or through external training specialists. These are heavily subsidised, to make them accessible to as many members as possible.
Many of the courses run by NFYFC are ITOL accredited courses, adding value to any CV/UCAS application.
The NFYFC portfolio of training courses is constantly growing and evolving. Below is a brief summary of just a selection of the training available. More information on courses offered by NFYFC can be found at http://www.nfyfc.org.uk/Skillsandtraining/skills.
If you're interested in booking onto one of these courses, please contact the Bucks YFC County Office.
Club Officers
Once elected, Bucks YFC holds a training session for all club and county officers, allowing them to get the most from their time on a committee, as well as providing an opportunity to meet committee members from other clubs and share ideas to make their time in office a success.
'The Curve'
The Curve is a new training programme, allowing club officers to deliver training to their own clubs and enhance the skills development of their members. Split into modules, each focusses on a different skill area, allowing training to be delivered in small 'bite-size' sessions, such as:
- Club promotion
- Team work
- Communication skills
- Safeguarding
- Organising events
Leadership Development

Written specifically for YFC members and particularly those who are currently club officers and want to progress their leadership skills. Course topics covered during this weekend course include:
- Effective communication
- Running successful meetings
- Basic club promotion skills
- Managing members' own professional development
